Microsoft Download Manager is a free downloader application officially released by Microsoft, offering a more reliable and faster download as well as some other features. Users can pause and resume download, define how many times the application should retry downloading a file when the download attempt is failed, and specify the destination folder for the downloaded files. It offers proxy support as well. You can also configure how many simultaneous connection you want to use in downloading a file.
Microsoft Download Manager still doesn’t have advanced features like some popular downloader applications around but it might be sufficient for users who don’t download files often. The program is compatible with the latest Windows operating system, Windows 7, as well as Windows Vista, Windows XP, Windows Server 2008 and Windows Server 2003. It also supports both 64-bit and 32-bit editions.
