Disable Aero Peek in Windows 7



aero peekAero Peek in Windows 7 enables us to view desktop without having to minimize all windows. When you move and hold your mouse over the show desktop button located on the right corner of the taskbar, all opened windows will become transparent, allowing you to see the desktop items like icons and gadgets. However, some of you might not like this peek feature. Fortunately, disabling aero peek is easy.

How to Disable Aero Peek Feature in Windows 7:

  1. Right-click an empty area on the taskbar and select “Properties”.
  2. Remove the check mark on “Use Aero Peek to preview the desktop”.
  3. Click OK.

That’s it. The Aero Peek feature is disabled and you can’t view the desktop unless you do it manually either by clicking the show desktop button or pressing a shortcut key like Win + D.
