If you only need to read a docx file, then there is no need to purchase Microsoft Office. There are many free programs nowadays that let you read docx file. You can even read docx online and it’s still free. If you prefer to use a desktop software than reading the file online, Microsoft provides a free Word Viewer program available for download at their website. Another free program that can read docx is TextMaker Viewer.
