At least we have two situations when we need to remove metadata from photos or images. First, to reduce the size. Second, to protect our privacy. Either way, metadata tags like Exif, GPS, XMP, IPTC, MakerNotes, Jpeg Comments, PhotoShop IRB, ICC Profiles, Ducky APP12, CIFF & AFCP can be easily removed.
Exif Tag Remover is a free utility that lets us remove metadata from multiple images or photos at once. We can also select which metadata tags that we want to remove. If you want to leave the original images untouched, there is an option to save the cleaned images as new ones instead of overwriting.

You can remove metadata information not only from jpeg images, but also from the following ones: jpeg 2000, tiff, png, miff, hdp, pdf, ps, psd, dng, svg, cr2, crw, ciff, cs1, erf, hdp, wdp, mef, mie, mos, mrw, nef, orf, pef, raf & raw.
Exif Tag Remover is licensed as freeware and runs under Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows Me, Windows NT4, Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows Vista and Windows 7, including 64-bit versions.

It’s not freeware anymore. BatchPurifier LITE and jStrip are free alternatives.
