Since Windows Media Player is a built-in media player in Windows operating system, there are still many users using it even though there are better free alternatives out there. What it does is re-registering over 40 dll files required for the smooth functioning of WMP.

However, note that Fix WMP will only repair Windows Media Player problems that are caused by any missing dll in the registry. If you can’t play a certain video format, it is likely that you need to download and install the proper codec.
Fix WMP Utility has been tested only on Windows Media player 12 on Windows 7 and Vista 32 and 64 bit editions, but the developer says that it might also work for the previous versions.
