Before you can open or download the full size version of a picture in Google Image Search, you have to visit the web page from where the picture comes. In some situations, this isn’t necessarily bad or inefficient. You probably prefer to click the thumbnail once it is displayed to get the full size, but if you wait for the web page to finish the loading you might find more interesting pictures.
