After nine months of twelve beta releases two RCs (Release Candidates), Firefox 4 final has finally been released. It has a lot of cool changes that makes it hard for users to not turn to Firefox as their default browser. Aside from the improved speed and minimalist GUI, tab management that lets us grouping related tabs in different tab sets is a fascinating addition to minimize the clutter in the tab bar area.

The revamped GUI of Firefox 4 browser also provides a wider free space that allows users to focus more on their works. No more menu clutter as it is now hidden in the new Firefox button. However, you can still view the menu bar simply by pressing your “Alt” keyboard button. Additionally, the status bar isn’t there anymore.

Many other changes in Firefox 4 final includes the improved page loading speed, multi-touch support for Windows 7, full hardware acceleration, HTML 5 support, Firefox Sync, improved add-ons manager, app tabs, and more.

The final version has not been publicly announced on the Mozilla site yet, but you can download the browser from the direct download links below if you can’t wait any longer.

Firefox 4 Beta 1 is now available for download for Windows, Mac and Linux users.

    As you can see from the screenshot below, the tab is now placed on the top of the address bar by default that Firefox veteran user might not like it or find it hard to adapt with it. Fortunately, an option to move the tab position to the old position is provided.

    One button is also added above the tab, replacing the menu bar by default. If you choose to display the menu bar, this button will disappear.

    Add-on manager is definitely larger in this version. It takes the whole page and is designed in such a way that makes it easier to manage Firefox add-ons. However, it isn’t fully functional yet.
