Format Ext4 on Windows 10, 8, 7
Geeks - It is not possible to format a drive with the Ext4 file system on a computer running Windows 10, 8, or 7. These versions of Windows only support the NTFS, FAT32, and exFAT file systems.
If you want to use a drive with the Ext4 file system on a computer running Windows, you will need to first format the drive with one of the supported file systems (NTFS, FAT32, or exFAT). However, keep in mind that doing so will erase all data on the drive.
It is also worth noting that even if you format the drive with one of the supported file systems, Windows will not be able to read or write to the drive unless you use a third-party utility that adds support for Ext4. There are several such utilities available, but they may not be as reliable as using the native file system support in Windows.
